This section of the park climbs into the Rincon Mountains, reaching elevations of 8,666 feet at Mica Mountain. It features mature saguaro forests and an extensive trail network for long day hikes and backcountry camping.
Drive the 8-mile paved loop or explore the desert on foot. The park entry fee is $25 per vehicle, which is valid for seven days across both districts.

This 8-mile paved scenic drive loops through the lower elevations of the Rincon Mountains. Multiple pullouts provide safe places to park and photograph the cactus forest. It is a popular route for both passenger cars and road cyclists.

Walk this 1-mile loop trail to view some of the oldest, largest saguaros in the park. Informational signs explain the history of early desert homesteading in the area. The path is mostly flat, making it an easy hike.

Located at nearly 8,000 feet in elevation, this backcountry camp requires a demanding hike into the Rincon Mountains. A former Tucson mayor originally built the site. You must obtain a backcountry permit to camp here.
